Recently the Click Team (get it?) revealed a new exporter after a long time. It was surprising the fact it was a Linux exporter after a really long time of waiting.

Not gonna lie, I'm happy but just because I'm planning to buy one of those Linux-based platforms portable consoles (like for example an Anbernic) because I can't afford for an Android-based one and adding the fact of an external gamepad support without paying 24 dollars (which in Colombia is too much money for something basic that should be built-in the software) so this could come handy for me as I just want to fool around with my games.

But here's the thing, do you guys share the same excitement? While this makes me shake my hips from side to side I should say that the exporters are a bit disappointing to use as either it is broken (HTML5) or it's a rollercoasted as it tends to be good but other times it slow down or has terrible audio bugs (Android) and don't mention that the built-in joytsick functionality is TERRIBLE so it's useless. At least I hope that with this Haxe situation there could be more customization or freedom.

Share your thoughts here, and don't mind the hour, I don't want to sleep

I do hope it is a good exporter, I have 2 Anbernic devices (RG35SP being my favorite) that I would love to run some Fusion games on.

Hey guys! Glad to see you guys are excited for the Haxe exporter! This originally started out as a personal project which then became official after Clickteam offered me the opportunity to work on it for them. It's an opportunity I'm very grateful for, and I look forward to the community getting to take the new Haxe runtime for a test drive! I hope to help provide you with a stable experience for these new platforms and any issues that are found will be dealt with as they come.

I'm answering questions and taking requests here and on the official Click Converse Discord. So feel free to reach out with anything that's on your mind regarding the Haxe exporter/runtime!

To address 2 topics that I've seen in this thread so far:

About Joysticks:
For both the Linux and browser (aka WebGL) targets, joystick support will be present along with the player controls dialog for remapping inputs at runtime, just like on Windows. If you would prefer to avoid relying on the built-in system for joystick input, there are other options. The Xbox Gamepad object will also be available, which is compatible with Xbox and Xbox-like gamepads. I am looking into supporting the Joystick 2 extension as well.

About ARM Devices:
As far as ARM-based Anbernic and Anbernic-like devices go, those have not been tested yet. So far the Linux target has only been tested on x86 machines with a 64-bit OS. Support for ARM-based devices like the Raspberry Pi is being looked into, and more details will be provided in the future regarding this, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Oh my! The guy behind the project just spoke with useful information? YES!

It's great to see that for the first time an exporter (or at least one that is mandatory in someone's career) is having support of joystick extensions as the android one does not support the other extensions without going to an exclusive one (which at the same time is paid) that might not be easy to use.

About the ARM support I hope it does happen as it would make things easier and might be a logical step to evolve the software.

I wish you the greatest for this Toby!
